Madden NFL 25

With the recent release of College Football 25 in July, the first time since July 2013 that a game was released based on the American college football ladder, EA are hoping to double down with Madden NFL 25, coming out in just 10 days as of time of writing. Recent reviews from places like UpRoxx and IGN seem to be positive, and with a new “physics-based tackling and ball-carrier system” bringing the game’s quality even higher, this seems to be a must for American Football fans. EA needs this to go well, as last year’s game was not well received.

Concord

Concord is a game that looks to build further on the base of team shooters that has been established for years. In this game, you’re in a 5v5 scenario, and the maps are based around different planets. There are plenty of characters to choose from, and from the trailer, it looks to have some great quality and mechanics that it plays with. Some people describe it as a “match of Overwatch and Guardians of the Galaxy”, which I can sort of see. It’s going to need a lot to stand out in this genre of game though, there’s already a lot of team shooters out there, so one more to the pile is going to be difficult to see it grow substantially.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions

If you haven’t had enough of Hogwarts Legacy, there’s another Harry Potter game coming out next month. This game centers around the game of Quidditch, which is a very popular game played on flying brooms within the Potterverse. Leaning into a more cartoony art style, it seems to hold up well with regard to how the game is played and staying true to the original rules of the game. Part of me is slightly sad that this wasn’t part of Hogwarts Legacy itself, as I do have the game and know there is a Quidditch pitch that you can fly around, but regardless, this is a game that a lot of people will have been waiting for.
